A project with year 5+6 pupils at Tidemill Primary. Black History Month 2006. Year 5+6 pupils looked learnt about and their black power salute at the Olympics. Working in teams they devised their own silent protest, some protested about war, some about drugs, some about violence. They used their hands and bodies to spell out slogans. All the pupils slogans together made a multicoloured 'wall of protest" The project went on to win two awards. The Young@Art Prize ( Primary school Winners ) and the Education and Business Awards ( Commended )
